New Pen Day: Uni Jetstream “Pure Malt”

It’s new pen day again.
I routinely change my preferred pen (because why would I decide on anything) and now, after a couple of months sticking to the Uni Zento I switched back to a Jetstream pen.
The Zento has served me very well, and I am still using it daily, but I found that every now and then I had the occasional "smearing" issue in a Bullet Journal context, when I write something and then and then too quickly change pages.
Basically when things get a little hectic. I don't like these little smears.
Additionally I have switched back to the Hobonichi notebooks, because the 5mm grid in most notebooks feels like a waste of space. Over the years I have developed a rather small handwriting and definetely prefer the smaller 3.7mm grid of the Hobonichi books.
Long story short, I am back to the 0.5 Jetstream again.
I got tired of the multi-pens that I had been using and was looking for a pen that, surprisingly, writes in only one colour. Less to choose from and thus to think about.
By chance I ran into the Jetstream Pure Malt, made out of old Whisky barrels! Having enjoyed the occasional Single Malt in the past, the purchase had been a no-brainer.
Whether or not it is really made out of old barrels I don't know, but it is very nice, a little heavier, feels good in my hand and is not slippery at all (slippery pens had been an issue for me in the past).
I like this pen a lot and it is using the SX-5 refill.
The ink in the Jetstream pens seem to have to different formulas. My multipen refills seem to have the newer "hybrid" (?) ink which is darker than the standard (?) one used in the Parker style refills and in the SX-5 ones.
I prefer the latter two. The lines are thinner and the color overall feels lighter, which is nice and what I had hoped for.
Anyway, so far I am very happy with this pen. Let's see how long I manage to stick to this one. It's not that I am facing a shortage of pens around here.
