Weeknote for Week 13 of 2026 - So, what have you been doing?
Let's put it aside that it's been a while since the last weeknote, but Spring is keeping me certainly busy. Well, not Spring really, but rather my own stupidity.
I bought another Travelers Journal in black already last year, and finally can put it to use. In the background my new favourite backpack.
Remember how I wrote how I have now nicely consolidated all my journals in Obsidian? I proably also wrote in the process how I have organized all my task-management in there?1.
Well, I did what I usually did once "something" works well for me, that is: I make things complicated. And yes, I switched back to an analog-workflow. First for task management, and then increasingly for journalling.
You know, because ANALOG is simple.
Probably! Just not for me.
During the past weeks, and especially in the last week, I have run through
- FOUR DIFFERENT NOTEBOOKS (Leuchtturm, Rhodia GOALBOOK, Hobonichi Notebook, and eventually my trusted Travelers Notebook), including all the necessary migrations and set-ups
- and tried again ALL MY PENS in said set-ups, because things have to work well together.
The latter involved a trial of nearly all the fountain pens that I own in various nib and ink combinations, ended up ordering one new fountain pen from Japan (it was much cheaper there - of course it was) and in the meanwhile ended up using Pilot G2 in 0.38 because it has just the RIGHT WIDTH on every paper I use. Not sure why I even tried something else.
That I in the process went through a variety of pen-cases and still am not satisfied with that part of my set-up, goes almost without saying.
Analog is simple.
The good news is, that I have tried so many notebooks, and systems before, that I had most things already in the drawer.
Blog
Since I obviously had been busy, I certainly had no time to publish anything, but I have been fiddling with a different dark colour-theme. It's not ready yet, and I am not sure if I even like it. More testing required. You might notice eventually, when it's dark.
Things watched
During all of this I had been watching the sixth season of ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL. Twice.
Things read
I have a hard time finding something to read that I enjoy at the moment, but am still reading every now and then:
- Nick Bradley: The Cat And The City
- Michael Palin: Halfway to Hollywood
So, that had been my week. A pretty normal one I guess.

And if it wasn't in that post, you will likely find that somewhere else on this blog ↩
