My favourite way to type at the moment
| 2 min read
During the Black Friday sale last year I got me an inexpensive and small Lenovo tablet with the idea of turning it more or less into my mobile writing setup. Since then it had become my favourite way to write on a computer and morphed into the way I mostly interact with my Obsidian vault, read my feeds or for example to write this.
The missing piece though had been a nice mobile keyboard.
Up to now I had been using a full-scale Logitech MX-Keys Mini which I got in exchange for one of the Logitech mobile keyboards (can't remember the model anymore) that gave up after less than 48 hours of use.
This setup worked very well. The keyboard is fantastic, probably my favourite, but, despite it's name, it is not quite as portable as I would have liked.
By pure chance I ran into just-the-keyboard-that-I-had-been-looking-for at a local hardware store a few weeks ago, and the other day I finally purchased it. With that, I have the setup that I had envisioned a while ago.
The rather inexpensive Targus foldable, ergonomic keyboard and my small tablet make for a great mobile setup
That being said, it still took me - as always - a while to decide, because I have quite a few keyboards around here and had to justify the purchase to myself.
This is really quite the nice and light setup and frankly rather on the inexpensive side.
Finding a foldable, ergonomic keyboard isn't that had hard, but one with a Finnish/Swedish layout, to which I have grown accustomed to, is another story.
With all that being said, I am finishing the draft of this post with this setup. I have started to write on the 23rd of March still with the MX-Keys, then obviously had been quite happy with that setup. I am truly quite the fast writer.
Also: the setup is not that different, though much lighter, than the one that I had been sporting 11 years ago.
